Sensex regains by 268.95 points
MUMBAI [Maha Media]: The indian stock market on Thursday jumped by 268.95 pts to close high at 38,140.47 following gains in Energy, Health Care, Auto, Oil and Gas and Realty stocks.
The nifty of national stock exchange too moved up by 82.85 pts to 11,215.45. The Nifty recorded days high and low at 11,239.80 and 11,103.15 pts respectively.
Sliding by 58 pts on Wednesday, the BSE sensex opened on a weak note at 37,814.92 fell by 57 pts, during the day it lost nearly 133 pts to 37,738.59 days low. Till the end of the session, it erased earlier losses, and rallied nearly 354 pts to 38,225.93 days high before closing at 38,140.47, advancing by 268.95 pts from its previous close.
The sectoral indices like Energy, Health Care, Auto, Oil and Gas and Realty lifted the market. In scrips, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, SBI, Tech Mahindra and ITC moved up while selling in Axis Bank, Hind Unilever, Infosys, TCS and L & T capped from further gain s, broker informed.
Reliance market capitalisation (m-cap), including the partly paid shares, crossed the Rs 13.5trillion mark after both the stocks hit their respective new highs on the BSE on Thursday. RIL shares closed at Rs 2,060.65 apiece on the BSE. The stock hit an all-time high of Rs 2,079 in the intra-day deals.
The Mid Cap rose by 0.98 pc and Small Cap by 0.61 pc. In 30 scrips, 21 advanced, 8 declined and one remained unchanged.
