MP: Colleges to reopen today with 50 pc strength
BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Higher educational institutes are set to reopen their doors for offline studies of students from Wednesday.
Students have been asked to submit their vaccination certificate and consent letter of parents on mandatory basis. For the first ten days, students will be informed about the course, sitting arrangement, hostels and subject related queries. This will be a kind of orientation programme. Barkatullah University (BU) will be reopening offline class for 24 departments in first phase. University Vice Chancellor R J Rao has conducted meeting with HoDs and other officials regarding the same. He has directed HoDs and other staff to restart the classes from Wednesday in lanned way. He said that students have to submit vaccination card and consent letter of parents from each student.
Students have been asked to follow guidelines and do not gather in campus. Wearing mask in campus will be mandatory and 50 per cent students will be called in campus.
Officials of Higher Education Department said that hostel facility is not being restarted for first year students temporarily. Mess and hostel is being reopened for second and third year students in phased manner. In first phase UG final year and PG third semester students will get hostel accommodation. There will be small groups of students in mess to follow social distancing.
Colleges are being reopened after consent of district crisis management group and lead college principals. Only 50 per cent students will remain present in college and online class would also be continued.
Libraries will be reopening under certain restrictions. Only registered students will be allowed to enter the library and belongings like bag, laptop, etc will be submitted at entry gate.
If any student is found to be COVID-19 positive, entire libraries will be sanitised properly.
