MP: Registration for 3rd round admissions in BEd begins

BHOPAL [Maha Media]: Third round of registration for admissions in BEd programme gas begun on Monday. Registrations will be allowed from September 17 while fitness certificate submission for BPEd and MPEd is allowed by September 16. Applicants who were exempted from verification in first two rounds are asked to complete the process by September 17. A separate merit list will be released for these candidates on September 20. 

On the first day there were 754 fresh registrations for admissions in the third round. Around 2,440 candidates have filled their choice for admissions in 844 colleges. There are total 21 fresh verifications yet. In second round there were 11,300 admissions while in first round around 20,000 students confirmed their admissions. In two rounds of counseling, DHE has allotted 55,000 seats of 606 colleges. Out of this 30,300 seats have been occupied while 23,000 seats are vacant. Though every year, BEd seats of college get full in three or four rounds of counseling but this time, many seats are going vacant. DHE is continuing admission in all 9 programmes affiliated to National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE). Total 25,307 seats were allotted on September 8 in all nine programmes. 

But only 7,848 applicants have confirmed their admission till writing this report. There are total 53,350 BEd seats in 606 colleges across the State. First round of allotment was held on August 14. In first round out of 32,931 seats were allotted but 17,310 candidates confirmed their admission with fee submission. There are 655 colleges are offering 38,689 seats for BEd and 61 colleges offering 2,359 seats for MEd programme for which 215 candidates have confirmed registration. There are 1,232 seats for BPEd programme in 16 colleges and 105 seats for MPEd in the nine colleges. 

Apart from BEd course, admissions are also continuing for MEd, BPEd, MPEd, BA-BEd, MA-MEd, BSc-BEd and other integrated programmes affiliated to NCTE.
